Provide monthly support by sponsoring a dog; and by doing so you’ll be providing vital help for our global project partners, which will ensure that abandoned, unwanted, and vulnerable stray dogs all over the world receive the care they deserve. Your generosity will allow the facilitation of vaccinations and sterilisations, and provide veterinary care and food for those dogs who aren’t fortunate enough to have a home of their own.
Read more about our participating shelters on the Greek island of Lesvos and in Romania over on our Project Work page.
Your gift of sponsorship may help all dogs across our participating partner shelters, not just your chosen age group of dog, as funds are allocated according to the greatest need. Your sponsorship funds may also contribute towards the general upkeep of our participating partner shelters.
Your sponsorship support could make such a difference to dogs like these; some of whom have waited a lifetime to experience kindness, safety and comfort.
We do not know anything about Nelly’s past, or for how long she was a street dog, but it is thought that she was of adult age when rescued. It was when our project partner, Anca, saw Nelly in a field opposite her family home, she knew that she had to ensure her future safety.
Nelly has been in the care of Anca’s shelter for at least nine years, where she has experienced the comfort of a blanket, regular meals and medical attention as required.
Sponsoring a dog like Nelly will enable our project partners to provide a safe environment and meet the care needs of the dogs at their shelters.
Theo, along with his brother and sister, were born in a sheep farmers’ field on the Greek island of Lesvos, and it is thought their Mum was a feral stray dog. The landowner provided food for them but was unable to get close to the puppies, and they weren’t rescued until around 5 months old. Theo in particular was already very wary of people and was unwilling to be touched, and so he has remained in the care of our partner shelter.
Our project partner and Theo’s carer, Vassilia, has worked tirelessly to gain his trust; he has progressed to accepting occasional contact from her and he now does a happy dance every time she approaches. This is mainly as he knows her presence means that he’s about to leave his pen to have fun zooming around playing with his dog friends, plus be in receipt of a treat or two!
We are only able to help dogs like Theo with your sponsorship support.
It was by chance that Blanca was found in Romania by our project partner, Anca, on the side of a road with a litter of pups to care for. We don’t know for how long Blanca lived her life on the streets, or how many litters of puppies she endured; but this nervous lady has experienced the safety of a shelter environment and regular food for over 7 years.
Whether lounging under a tree or digging a few holes, Blanca can now relax in familiar surroundings and wait for the next round of treats!
Your generosity of sponsorship really does offer a lifeline to dogs like Blanca.

Every single day, an estimated 1.2 million puppies are born, but tragically 80% of these will die before they reach adulthood. Puppies are born completely blind, deaf and defenceless. They rely on the protection of their mother and basic human kindness to keep them safe from disease, starvation, and abuse. Puppies born onto the streets rarely have either of these luxuries.
Your sponsorship support will help to nurture vulnerable pups and ensure they have the opportunity to thrive.
Adult dogs are seen as much more able to protect themselves than other age groups, but this affords them the least protection in the public eye. Adult dogs face the same harsh realities of life on the street, but do not necessarily invite as much attention as young pups, or visibly ailing elderly dogs. They need to be protected as much as all others.
Your sponsorship donations will help to support the welfare of such overlooked dogs and provide them with a kindness previously unknown.
Sometimes, having spent their whole life suffering on the streets, elderly dogs can be burdened with unresolved medical issues and a long-standing fear of humans, making it difficult for them to find a home. These dogs rely on understanding and compassion from our project partners towards their scars borne of a long life on the streets.
Your sponsorship donations will support these dogs in finally living a comfortable life, and offer safety and kindness after years of neglect.
Whether it’s a gift for a friend, loved one, or even for yourself, you can set your level of sponsorship to suit your budget, starting from just £10 per month.
