What made the night special was not only the beautiful carols and festive atmosphere, but the sight of more than 100 dogs sitting contentedly beside their people, right at the heart of the celebration. From wagging tails to quiet snoozes during the readings, it was a powerful reminder of the deep bond we share with our dogs and why our work to protect those without homes matters so deeply.

Heartwarming Music, Celebrity Readings, and Festive Magic
The evening was brought to life by the incredible Olympic Choir, whose moving performances filled the church with warmth and joy. Heartfelt readings from Maureen Lipman, Simon Callow, Robert Glenister, and our founder Nikki Tibbles offered moments of reflection, kindness, and hope, while a special performance by Sandi Thom added to the magic of the night.

Making a Difference for Dogs in Need
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, Tails and Tidings raised almost £10,000 to support Wild at Heart Foundation’s global work. These vital funds will help our project partners continue their life changing work across sterilisation, welfare, and education programmes, supporting dogs living in some of the most challenging conditions around the world.

As a charity, our mission is to compassionately reduce the global stray dog population and ensure that free roaming dogs are treated with kindness and dignity. Seeing our supporters come together in such a joyful and meaningful way was deeply moving, and a reminder that real change is possible when compassion leads the way.

We are incredibly grateful to our generous sponsors Virtue Vets, Butternut Box, and Caboodle, whose support helped make the evening possible, and to everyone who volunteered their time, shared the night with us, and brought their dogs along to be part of the festivities.

Tails and Tidings was a celebration of music, community, and the love we share with dogs everywhere. Most importantly, it was a night that will continue to make a difference long after the final carol was sung. Reflecting on the evening, Simon Callow perfectly captured its spirit, saying,
“The whole event, canine, human and divine, was utterly joyful from start to finish, though, of course, barking mad.”
