Help us to help them this Christmas

3rd November
As the chilly evenings set in and we wrap both ourselves and our beloved four-legged friends in an extra blanket for warmth, the least we can do is spare a thought for the abandoned and unloved stray dogs of the world as they strive to survive on the streets amidst sub-zero temperatures this winter.

The stark reality for street dogs in winter

80% of all puppies born will die before reaching adolescence due to starvation, disease, neglect and abuse. These are street dogs who don’t have the security of a place to call home or the luxury of regular meals, and a bleak and harsh winter compounds their struggle to survive.

Conditions barely tolerable for a healthy adult dog are virtually impossible for young and vulnerable puppies to withstand. Lone pups seeking shelter from the bitter cold in a freezing ditch, foraging for scraps of vaguely edible food, are often too weak to fight the cold and can succumb to the elements.

How to help

Help us to give dogs less fortunate than those already safe in a caring shelter the Christmas they deserve. There’s no better feeling than helping those in the direst of need.

Every single donation, no matter how small, has the potential to change the life of a stray dog this winter. By donating whatever you can, you are helping us to support our project partners in our combined missions to end the suffering and improve the wellbeing of the global stray dog population.

  • £10 could provide a couple of blankets.
  • £15 could feed a starving dog for a month.
  • £20 could provide a life saving blood test.
  • £25 could vaccinate a vulnerable dog.
  • £40 could sterilise a dog.

We are so very grateful for your generous support which has helped us get to where we are today, but your continued help could take us even further towards making impactful and lasting change to the lives of stray dogs in need.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Wild at Heart to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Wild at Heart we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Wild at Heart to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Wild at Heart will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Wild at Heart receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
