Winter was discovered when she was just 6 weeks old and was living on a wood yard nearby to our partner shelter. The team at the shelter quickly swooped in to rescue Winter and she is now ready to find her loving home in the UK.

Understandably, Winter was nervous when she first arrived at the shelter and she needed some time to get used to her new surroundings. She has recently turned herself around and although she is still timid, she bravely seeks out the volunteers for a tasty treat or hug, however she is still not sure on being picked up just yet. Winter will definitely need a calm and quiet home, where she has the chance to adapt and slowly get used to all her new life has to offer.

It is likely that Winter’s recently gained confidence could regress once she has arrived in her new home and as such, we would preferably like her to go to adopters who have some experience working with nervous dogs. Luckily, Winter loves her food and is very keen to please for a few tasty treats. This should make training fun and will also be an excellent way to gain trust and bond with Winter.

Winter enjoys playing with the other dogs at the shelter and keenly joins in on the pack walks. We think she would love to go to a home with a resident friendly dog, as this will really help her come out of her shell. We will also only be considering adult only homes that are in rural areas so that Winter has the opportunity to gain her confidence in a quiet and peaceful setting.

Winter has not been tested with cats so we will be watching how her puppy personality develops and considering homes on a case by case basis.

Winter is a sweet girl with so much to offer and with the right amount of patience and love from committed adopters, we are sure that she will bloom in her own very special way.

Please note, Winter won’t be travelling until at least May. As a result, it may take us longer to reply to applications, as we need to prioritise those arriving sooner – thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Winter as soon as possible!
