Steven was found in the middle of nowhere, sadly found with a very tight rope around his neck and with no food or water. He was eventually found by a passer-by who notified our partner shelter. Thankfully, they were able to come to the rescue and offer Steven a second chance. Steven is currently resident in a foster home and we are now looking for a special forever home that will continue to nurture Steven and his ever growing confidence.

With his big open heart, it is clear to see that Steven is slowly redefining his very cruel beginning. Steven was very frightened to begin with but with each day that passes, he is emerging out of his shell and showing off his very playful, energetic personality! Steven loves his toys and is often found chasing around a ball! With lots of puppy energy to burn off, Steven loves zooming around with his foster mates and is very fond of his four legged friends – apart from cats, as these are one furry friend Steven is not so sure of! We would love to place Steven in a home with a resident, confident dog, as he will really benefit from a friend to show him the way, we are sure he would appreciate the extra playmate!

Steven was not quite sure if he could trust humans again but since interacting with the other dogs at the shelter, he has taken their lead and is beginning to understand he is very much welcome to plenty of love and cuddles. Considering we don’t know much about Steven’s life before he was found, there is naturally a few situations which can make Steven nervous. He is unsure of loud noises and raised voices as well as people holding sticks. It will be really important for Steven to be in a quieter home without young children and with adopters who feel confident working through such issues and positively reminding Steven how far he has come.

We think Steven is best suited to a rural home, where he can enjoy the quiet bliss and continue the excellent work he has begun! Steven is worthy of so much more than his unfair start and with adopters who are willing to give him all the time he needs to continue to grow and learn, we know he will have plenty of love to offer in return!

Please note, Steven won’t be ready to travel to the UK until at least the start of February. As a result, we will not be reviewing applications until the New Year, as we need to prioritise those arriving sooner – thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Steven as soon as possible!
