Quiet calm soul
Introducing special Rufus who was found abandoned, along with his five siblings by the side of the road near our partner shelter. The puppies were tiny and had very little chance of being discovered at all, let alone knowing how to fend for themselves at such a young age. It truly is a miracle that our partner shelter discovered the litter when they did. Thankfully, Rufus is now in safe hands and he is finally ready to fly the nest to his new furever home!
Rufus is a very sweet soul and is the most calm out of his siblings. He is just beginning to find his place in the big wide world. Rufus can be nervous and is a quite unsure when being handled or being picked up, so it may take some calm encouragement to entice Rufus in for a cuddle but once he is safe in your arms he will start to relax.
Rufus does have a playful side but wherever Rufus is and whatever he is doing, there is always somewhere else on his mind – his very cosy bed! If ever there is too much excitement amongst the other dogs at the shelter for Rufus, he will likely be found here, chilling out in his own space.
As Rufus enjoys the calmer side of life, we think he would be best suited to a quiet, rural home without any young children. He would also benefit from living with another, relaxed resident dog that can help show him the way. We think, that with lots of positive reinforcement and some very tasty treats to help him learn about the world around him, Rufus will continue to shine in his own very special way.
Rufus has not yet been tested with cats. We will be watching how his puppy personality develops and considering homes on a case by case basis.
Please note, Rufus won’t be ready to travel to the UK until towards the end of January 2021. As a result, it may take us longer to reply to applications, as we need to prioritise those arriving sooner – thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Rufus as soon as possible!
