Meet the beautiful Ruby, who was found wondering alone in the local town centre. She had no problems being rescued by the volunteers and was even keen to make friends! Now Ruby is safely at the shelter and we can’t wait to find this beautiful girl her very own forever home.

It is believed that Ruby was an owned dog before she ended up on the streets, as she was quick to make friends with the shelter volunteers and she also has a very loyal side. Ruby is naturally a very calm dog and although she was initially scared when settling in at the shelter, she has blossomed more each day. It will be likely that after her long journey to the UK, Ruby’s progress may regress so adopters will need to be patient and allow her to take her time once in her new home. We will only be considering at least semi-rural homes due to the rural nature of the shelter Ruby is currently in and her slight nervous behaviour when she first arrived.

We are sure once Ruby is settled, she will love getting out and exploring her new surroundings. She is already learning how to walk on a lead at the shelter, but can sometimes pull in her eagerness to get to the next exciting smell so adopters will need to keep up the lessons once she is in her new home. We are confident that Ruby’s intelligence will make training a fun task and her love of tasty snacks will be an excellent tools to keep her motivated.

Ruby loves playing with the other dogs at the shelter and looks forward to going on the pack walks. We will definitely consider homes with friendly resident male dogs, as Ruby seems to have a soft spot for them in particular!

Not only is Ruby an incredibly beautiful girl on the outside, (just look at those ears and striking amber eyes!) but she also has a heart full of gold on the inside. We know that she will thrive with a family who will spoil her rotten with plenty of fuss, attention and a big cuddle at the end of the day. We will only be considering families with older children that are dog savvy and we unfortunately cannot consider homes with cats or other small furries.

Ruby recently tested positive for Anaplasmosis, (a disease transmitted through a tick bite) but she has since been treated and cleared of the disease, with no complications.

Please note, Ruby won’t be travelling until at least May. As a result, it may take us longer to reply to applications, as we need to prioritise those arriving sooner – thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Ruby as soon as possible!
