Ragnar in three words | A clever clogs
Before coming to the shelter we can only assume that Ragnar was imported from somewhere in Europe and was dropped off at our shelter at only 10-weeks-old after the novelty of having a puppy wore off. Ragnar is now living in a foster home in Bahrain and learning more and more each day!
Ragnar is extremely intelligent and has a natural aptitude for learning, he adores being praised and being told he has done a good job. He picks up new tricks super quickly and is easily trainable (as shown in the video). He loves having his brain worked and would need a family who are willing to train him and keep him entertained both mentally and physically. If he isn’t kept stimulated he has been known to entertain himself, showing his mischievous side!
Ragnar is very loving with everyone, he enjoys being in the presence of people and always wants to be close to the action. Whilst he is wary of strangers, and it can take him a few minutes until he warms to them, he will then become his usual bouncy self once he knows you.
Ragnar loves being stroked and given attention, he can spend hours in your lap revelling in attention! He loves children and can play with them all day and while he is very patient, he is also good at letting you know when he is finished playing and wants to be left alone, which needs to be respected.
Ragnar loves being outside and running around in the garden or going on long hikes. Whilst he is still learning to love water, he does enjoy going to the beach and having a run around in the sand. He loves attention from people and playing games with them both indoors and outdoors. He certainly has an adventurous streak within him and would love to go to a home with an active lifestyle.
Ragnar is playful with other dogs and enjoys being around them, however, they would need to be bigger dogs who are as energetic as he is. He is learning to read social cues from the other dogs and has begun respecting them when they are done playing. He basically just needs to learn some good manners around dogs, but at such a young age Ragnar is doing really well and beginning to learn this.
Ragnar does love his food and is likely to try to eat everyone else’s food in the house if he gets the chance but his current fosters are training him out of it. He is not aggressive with food, he is just a puppy that needs to learn and respect boundaries around food.
