Otus and his brothers were born at the back of an apartment block to their mum who is a street dog. Our partner shelter plan to safely neuter her soon but in the meantime her pups were taken to the shelter, where they could grown, learn and play in a safe environment.

Otus has been at our partner shelter since he was 6 weeks old. Having been handled from a young age, Otus loves people and he will happily snuggle in for a cuddle with the volunteers. His personality is still developing each day but he is already quite confident when he is exploring his surroundings.

Otus is a very clever young lad and enjoys his one to one training, which he has already begun at the shelter. He has picked up walking on the lead very quickly but he will need to keep up the good work with regular training sessions once he is in his new home. Luckily, Otus is very keen to please especially when there are a few tasty treats on offer!

Like most young dogs Otus has plenty of energy to burn and he enjoys zooming around the shelter with his friends as well as going on pack walks with the other dogs. We would love to find Otus an active home in at least a semi rural area where he has the opportunity to let off his steam! He is also happy to share his food and toys so he could suit a home with a doggy sibling but please bear in mind that Otus is due to grow into a large dog, so some extra room in the home would be appreciated!

Otus hasn’t had any socialisation with cats or children so we will be watching how his puppy personality develops and considering homes on a case by case basis.

On arrival at the shelter, Otus tested positive for Giardia (a common bacterial gut infection) which is currently being treated, and is no cause for concern.

Please note, Otus won’t be travelling until at least May. As a result, it may take us longer to reply to applications, as we need to prioritise those arriving sooner – thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Otus as soon as possible!
