Meet the lovely Meg! We don’t know much about Meg’s life before she came into shelter care and she was given up when she was no longer wanted. Having been at the shelter for a little while, Meg has been patiently waiting for her time to fly the nest and finally find a loving family of her own.

Meg always greets the shelter volunteers with a wag in her tail and a smile on her face! She loves being around people and is also fairly confident when meeting someone new – if there are tummy rubs on offer, you are bound to be her new best friend! She is a very cheerful dog who has taken shelter life in her stride, but she is definitely ready to discover the comforts of a special home with a family that she can cuddle up to at the end of the day.

At around 9 years old, Meg has spent the majority of her life in a shelter so she may well need time to adjust to a home environment. Adopters will need to be prepared to start from scratch with house training and offer patient encouragement whilst Meg learns to adapt. Luckily, Meg is very eager to please and she also loves her treats, which will be a perfect tool when teaching her all about her new home.

Meg would love a home nearby to plenty of quiet & engaging walks. She can become a little shy when outside her pen at first, again because she is very used to shelter life but with adopters who are dedicated to taking things at Meg’s pace, she is bound to release her adventurous side. Meg may be a more senior lady but she’s still active and we’re sure she’d love a nice, engaging amble alongside you!

Meg gets along well with other dogs, so we could consider homes with a resident kind and friendly dog who could help Meg gradually build her confidence.

Meg has not been tested with cats or children so we will be considering homes on a case by case basis. It is likely she could suit a family with older children that are calm and sensible around dogs.

In her senior years and after waiting so long, Meg is so deserving of a loving home where she can finally relax and experience what it means to be treasured. We can’t wait to see how this gorgeous girl lights up her new home!

Please note, Meg won’t be travelling until at least April. As a result, it may take us longer to reply to applications, as we need to prioritise those arriving sooner – thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Meg as soon as possible!
