Introducing the very special Maddie. Having been born on the streets, Maddie knew very little about what it meant to feel safe. She was rescued along with her siblings by our brilliant partner shelter and since then, all of her lucky brothers and sisters have been adopted to the UK. Maddie has been gradually building up her confidence in a foster home and is now ready to follow her siblings, in search of her forever home where she can continue to thrive.

After a very unsure start to her life, Maddie is gradually learning what it means to be loved and since being in her foster home, she is coming out of her shell more each day. She was very nervous at first but after building a relationship with her foster carers, Maddie loves nothing more than a big cuddle on the sofa! She will likely take her time to bond with her new owners, as she can be wary of new people at first and sometimes reacts when there are new visitors in her foster home. She soon settles with plenty of reassurance but with this in mind, we will be looking for adopters who are patient and have some experience working with sensitive & potentially reactive dogs.

Maddie has also benefitted from living with other dogs in her foster home, it has specifically helped with building her confidence and also brings out her playful side! We will definitely be considering homes who already have a confident and calm resident dog, as this will help Maddie to feel comfortable in her new home.

Maddie loves going out on her walks, but may take some time to settle in her new surroundings. Maddie can be sensitive to loud noises so to give her the best chance at adapting, we will specifically be looking for homes in rural environments, where she can enjoy a peaceful walk and gradually build her confidence to new areas. We are sure that with the help and guidance of calm adopters, she will start to feel relaxed and will learn to love exploring her new home!

Due to her timid nature, we will not be considering homes with young children but homes with older, calm & dog savvy children could be considered on a case by case basis.

Maddie is a wonderful girl and is very deserving of a safe place to call home. We have no doubt that with some consistent, positive training and a big heap of love, she will continue to blossom more each day and we can’t wait to see how she grows!

When taken into shelter care Maddie tested positive for Giardia, but has since been treated and cleared of the infection.

Please note, Maddie won’t be ready to travel to the UK until at least mid March. As a result, it may take us longer to reply to applications, as we need to prioritise those arriving sooner – thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Maddie as soon as possible!
