Ivy and her siblings Merry and Rudolph, were abandoned in a very remote part of Bulgaria, not far from our partner shelter. Thankfully, the owners of our partner shelter were passing through the area and were able to rescue the siblings. Ivy’s fate changed for the better when she was found, as she is now one step closer to finding a wonderful forever home.

Ivy is a sweet natured puppy who’s personality is still developing every day. She is a little nervous when she meets new people or when she is in a new environment, so Ivy will need plenty of positive encouragement and slow introductions to people, places and things once in her new home. Once she has learnt to trust you and with a few treats in hand for good measure, Ivy loves a big cuddle and tummy rub!

Ivy loves going on pack walks and enjoys playing with the other dogs at the shelter. As such, we would love to find her a doggy sibling, so that she has an extra playmate and a little guidance from a resident friendly dog. To help Ivy build her confidence, we will only be considering homes with previous dog experience in at least semi-rural areas, so that she has the best chance of settling into her new environment.

Ivy is a very smart girl and is already proving to be a very quick learner! She has begun some basic lead training at the shelter and to make sure she keeps up the good work, adopters will need to continue training sessions once she is in her new home.

Ivy hasn’t had any socialisation with cats or children so we will be watching how her puppy personality develops and considering homes on a case by case basis.

Ivy has recently tested positive for Giardia (a common bacterial gut infection caused by a microscopic parasite), but she is currently being treated for the infection, which will have cleared before travel.

Please note, Ivy won’t be travelling until at least late May. As a result, it may take us longer to reply to applications, as we need to prioritise those arriving sooner – thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Ivy as soon as possible!
