Iro and her siblings were found alone in Greece at around 1 month old and were previously living in a foster home in Greece for the last two months but they are now residing in our partner shelter. Now they are safe & healthy, they’re ready to embark on their freedom journey to their forever homes, which we can’t wait to find for them!

Iro is a sweet, calm and gentle girl. She is generally more calm & relaxed than some of her siblings but of course this could change as her confidence & puppy personality develops and she will need lots of puppy training & stimulation. Iro loves nothing more than sitting as close to you as possible, preferably on your lap! She was always following her foster mum around so will need some training on becoming more independent & enjoying her own company.

Before coming to the shelter, Iro hadn’t had much socialisation outside of her foster home & she was nervous when seeing the neighbours in adjoining properties. She is becoming more confident each day & was learning to trust the neighbours but she will need continued training to help build her confidence around strangers & new experiences.

In her foster home, Iro was living with other adult dogs and mixed well with them. She’s very social & enjoys playing with other dogs. The resident dogs were bigger than her and her confidence grew around them, however she could initially be wary of strange & bigger dogs. As Iro gets on well with other dogs, we are able to consider homes with other, friendly & gentle resident dogs that can help bring out Iro’s confidence.

Iro is generally ok with the cats in her foster home but she doesn’t have regular socialisation. For this reason, Iro may be able to live with a confident & friendly cat, but we will be considering homes with cats on a case by case basis.

Iro has had some basic collar & lead training but the pups do not go for regular walks to build up this training, so lots more puppy training will be needed!

Due to the rural area Iro has been exposed to & her more nervous nature when meeting strangers, we will only be considering quiet homes in at least a semi-rural area. She has not been tested with children so we will be watching how her personality develops & considering homes with older, dog savvy children on a case by case basis.

Please note, Iro won’t be travelling until at least the end of May. As a result, it may take us longer to reply to applications, as we need to prioritise those arriving sooner – thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Iro as soon as possible!
