Frank was adopted from Bahrain earlier this year, but sadly, his owners have arrived at the decision that Frank needs a different home in order to thrive.

Frank is a really affectionate boy when he feels calm and settled, and loves nothing more than cuddling up and having a big old belly scratch.  He loves to play tug-of-war and will eagerly fetch a ball when thrown.

Frank loves to chase but has excellent recall, and is much calmer off the lead which is why we are looking for a rural home for him. As well as his recall, Frank will sit, lie down and give his paw whenever asked; especially if there’s some tasty treats involved; what a clever pup! We believe Frank would make a great agility dog; an excellent way to keep him mentally stimulated.

Frank does unfortunately have a few areas where he struggles, so we are therefore looking for more experienced owners that can help Frank work through this. Strangers and noises scare Frank, leading him to become reactive towards them by barking or snarling. Initially he was barking at any foreign looking object as well as chasing cars but he has slowly shown improvements, becoming calmer in these situations.

Frank is fearful of dogs he does not know, and will bark and snarl at them when out walking on the lead. He has, however, made friends with another dog whilst at doggy training, and we think Frank may really benefit from another calm dog in the home to help with his anxieties and show him the ropes.

He has also shown some resource guarding behaviour, particularly towards men, who he is more fearful of. Most of Franks behavioural quirks are down to him being fearful and anxious. We believe with some time and patience, his confidence will build and he will be able to overcome these fears.

As Frank doesn’t cope well with strange noises or unknown situations, he would be best suited to an experienced home in a rural environment where his owner could work on these anxieties slowly, allowing him to blossom into the beautiful boy he is.

Frank originally came from Bahrain but is now living in the UK – visits can be arranged for serious adopters. Please note, the UK adoption fee will apply.
