Emerald and her siblings were found with their mum, Gemma in a remote area of Lesvos. Gemma had dug underneath a rock to keep her pups safe and it was here that they were discovered by a soldier, who notified our partner shelter to come to their rescue. The family have since been in foster care, where they have been learning, playing and growing more each day! Finally, Emerald and her family are ready to fly the nest and find their forever homes in the UK.

Emerald is the definition of small but mighty! She absolutely loves to play and despite being a young pup, she definitely knows how to rule the roost! Emerald had to be separated from her siblings pen because she was becoming dominant and very bossy with them! There is no doubt that Emerald is a huge bundle of fun and she will love a family as active as her, but she will also need adopters who are committed to regular training sessions and confident setting clear boundaries when she is in her new home.

Emerald is mostly found zooming around or collecting her beloved toys, which she sometimes tries to steal from her siblings and keeps them all to herself! To be sure this doesn’t progress into resource guarding behaviour, we will be looking to place Emerald in a home as the only dog, but she will still benefit from socialising when she is out on her walks. She would also love her new home to be close to plenty of exciting adventures so that she has an outlet for all of her excitable energy! As much as Emerald is sure to keep you busy, she is just as likely to snuggle in close for a relaxing snooze at the end of the day.

There is no doubt that Emerald will steal the hearts of her adopters and she is bound to charm them with her clever ways. She  will be keen to take part in training sessions where there are her favourite treats involved, but she can sometimes be a little nippy when there is food on offer and she will need to learn some more patience. With plenty of structure and guidance she will definitely benefit from a clear routine. As she has a little more to learn about manners and sharing, we will only be considering homes with older and dog savvy children.

Emerald has also been tested with cats, so we can consider homes with dog savvy resident cats on a case by case basis.

Please note, that due to on-going travel restrictions and transport logistics, we currently do not have a transport date in place for dogs travelling from Lesvos. As a result, it may take us longer to reply to applications, thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Emerald as soon as possible!
