Daisy was rescued from Romania after she and her siblings were thrown over the wall of a shelter in a plastic bag. All of the litter were adopted a few years ago but unfortunately Daisy is still looking for her ideal home.  Her owners have made the difficult decision to seek a more suitable home for her after recognising that their urban environment is causing her a lot of stress.

When Daisy arrived in the UK as a puppy she had suffered a traumatic and inconsistent beginning through no fault of her own. She was consequently very nervous and fearful and struggled to connect with people. However, after an intensive training course and significant dedication to helping her acclimatise to her new life, Daisy calmed down and started to fit in with her new family. In this time she passed her Sensitivity course at ElmTree Dog Training and amazed everyone with her progress. She will sit, wait, do tricks and will wait to eat a treat until commanded to do so. Daisy is extremely intelligent and learns quickly.

Given her past, Daisy was socialised carefully and slowly but once thoughtfully introduced to new people she falls in love and becomes devoted to them. She has improved immensely around people but can still be wary, particularly of men. To those she loves, she sings to them, mostly including the women in the household and also the family cleaner. Daisy adores walks in the countryside where she can chase birds and squirrels to her hearts content. She loves being brushed and whilst she dislikes bath-time she puts up with it because she enjoys the end result, burying her nose into the soft towel when you dry her off.

With proper introductions, Daisy loves to play with other dogs, regularly joining group dog walks but she becomes particularly anxious when dogs run up to her.

Daisy is a lovely but nervous dog who prefers a calm home. Her current adopters have committed to consistent training and she is much improved since she first came to them. However, her anxiety, busy city life and living with another dog, means she struggles in her current home. When Daisy and her current adopters go away to the countryside where she thrives and is a much happier dog.

Daisy is a very loving that ultimately needs a quiet home in a rural area with no children or other pets. She currently shares her home with another older dog but would prefer being the solo dog in the household, where adopters could concentrate on her training and provide her with the calm environment she needs. She would also benefit from an experienced owner, or foster, who is committed to keeping up with her training and working past any ongoing behavioural traits.
