Peaches is strictly looking for a single adult or couple, living in a rural setting with no visitors, children or other pets.
Peaches will not be considered for first-time dog owners or those without experience of dogs with behavioural issues.
Peaches is looking for a permanent or long-term foster. Adoption applications will also be considered.
Peaches originated from Bahrain and travelled to the UK in 2020. Peaches was adopted to a family who were unable to take her with them when they moved. Peaches takes a long time to trust people and is very nervous and anxious in new company. When scared she can react negatively and in some cases this has led to a bite.
Meet and greets will be required with applicants who meet her needs – Peaches is currently living in the Swindon area.
Meet Peaches
Peaches is a lively girl with plenty of energy. Her favourite past time includes playing, digging, and rolling around in the mud! She will make an excellent adventure companion and would love an adult-family who can meet her energy levels – she is a dog who could walk for miles.
Peaches has a nervous and anxious personality overall and can become extremely unsettled by new people entering her space. When scared she can react negatively and in some cases this has led to a bite. This includes in the home and when outside. Peaches will therefore need to be muzzled when out on walks and we will only be considering homes where there are no visitors.
Peaches is particularly cautious of men, so male applicants should expect an extensive period of meet and greets.
We do not know what has happened in her past to cause this, but Peaches will need an owner who understands and respects her nervous tendencies, will limit her handling and let her settle and form relationships in her own time. She will need a home that is quiet and in a rural location where she will not often be met with the things she fears. Peaches can be reactive, but with the right training, guidance, and management this could improve.
Whilst Peaches has an independent side, often taking herself off to her own space, she did not like to be excluded or left alone completely in her previous home. She did not like being shut away behind closed doors either. This sweet girl likes to know her humans are close by, often checking up on them throughout the day. Given her uncertainty about being left alone, Peaches will need an owner who is mostly orientated at home and can help her overcome her separation anxiety in a positive way.
Peaches has shared her home with a resident dog and on the most part, they co-habit well. However, Peaches does tend to guard her favourite toys or food and does have a particularly boisterous play style. Her relationship with dogs has regressed since her environment was changed, and therefore homes with dogs or other pets will not be considered at this time. When out on walks, Peaches can become reactive towards other dogs and for this reason, she will need experienced owners who can help redirect her when she becomes anxious in such scenarios.
Due to the regression in Peaches behaviour recently, applicants must be willing to work with both their vet and local CAB Behaviourist in order make progress with Peaches behaviour. Applicants must be aware that there have been recent bite incidents and only suitable application with relevant experience will be considered.

Marvel was rescued by our partner shelter in Greece in September 2020, after he had been hit by a car, causing fractures to his pelvis. He underwent surgery to repair his hip and later travelled to the UK where he has been living with a loving family in Suffolk.
Sadly, Marvel’s adopter’s feel he needs a quiet adult-only environment in a rural setting in order to thrive. Marvel does have a bite history caused by the pain he felt during his recovery but has undergone behaviour assessments in relation to this. These behaviour reports have identified his triggers and the significant improvements he has made. Marvel requires ongoing pain/medical management and applicants should be aware of this financial commitment.
Meet and greets will be required for those applicants who meet his needs. The adoption fee of £295 will apply.
Meet Marvel
Marvel loves the feeling of freedom and the great outdoors. His previous injuries do not hold him back – he loves nothing more than to be outside (he would even sleep outside if he could!) and enjoys running free off-lead. He loves to keep his mind busy and enjoys games that stimulate him mentally – he is extremely clever and loves to figure things out during playtime. Marvel is overall great with other dogs, lives peacefully with a cat and loves to be around the people he knows and trusts.
Marvel is very fond of his feline friend, but he will bark at them if there is food around. He is also partial to a game of chase and therefore we will be considering homes with dog-savvy cat(s) on a case-by-case basis.
Marvel has a very independent personality, but he likes to be in the presence of his people too. He may not be overly affectionate, but he likes to know that his humans are around and is very loyal in this way. Marvel is best suited to an adult-only home and is not suited to a home with children or visiting children.
Marvel prefers to be outside and whilst he still loves to snuggle by the sofa, he would spend every waking hour sniffing around the garden and watching the world go by. A home with a large garden and free-roaming space would be ideal for Marvel.
Marvel’s care needs
Marvel has had surgery on his hip following his trauma whilst in Greece. Marvel needs ongoing pain management and regular visits to a supportive vet to maintain his overall health. Marvel would benefit from physio/hydrotherapy but is averse to being in the water. Therefore, applicants should be willing to work with their vet to find the best ongoing support for Marvel as required.
Marvel can guard himself and become snappy when his discomfort is not being managed, so applicants must be aware of these behaviours and should be willing to work with a their vet and behaviourist to ensure his condition is being managed.

We are looking for a long-term or permanent foster for Badger, to help with the next stages of his rehabilitation.
Badger arrived in the UK from Greece in July 2021. He was found abandoned on the streets, suffering with severe mange. Sadly, Badger’s behaviour deteriorated significantly in his adoptive home, and he was moved to a rehabilitation centre in Dorset in October 2021. There were no bite incidents in the home, but Badger showed some concerning and intimidating behaviours, which prompted his onward movement to a behaviour and rehabilitation centre.
Badger has come a long way since starting his rehabilitation, he has responded well to his carers and is slowly forming relationships with people he knows. He has now been desensitised to a muzzle, harness, and lead. Overall, he walks well but does not like to stray too far from home. Whilst he is an anxious boy, general sounds of the home do not worry him, and he responds well to being brushed and groomed. Badger has had some positive meetings and walks with other dogs and seems to enjoy their company.
The next stages for Badger is to meet someone who can dedicate their time to his ongoing training and care –

Rowan was abandoned at our partner shelter in Greece with his family and siblings back in 2019 and travelled to the UK in 2020 where he has since been living. Sadly, his adopter has had an unfortunate change in circumstance, which means they are no longer to look after Rowan. The heart-breaking decision has been made to rehome Rowan so that he can get the love, care and attention he needs.
Rowan is currently living in Hertfordshire, where meets and greets with successful applicants will be required.
The adoption fee of £295 will apply.
Meet Rowan
Rowan is a real sweetheart, who is a nervous by nature. Given his rough start in life, it can take Rowan time to trust new people, especially men. Therefore, he is looking for a calm and gentle owner in a quiet adult-only home and a rural setting.
Rowan loves to snooze and is often described as ‘lazy’. He loves nothing more than snuggling up, lounging around and watching the world go by. Rowan has also been described as a ‘gentle-giant’ who offers loyalty, love and affection to those he trusts.
What Rowan longs for is a canine friend of his own. Rowan thrives in the company of other dogs – his confidence grows when he is surrounded by his canine companions. Rowan would suit life with a dog or two by his side, applications with friendly resident dogs are preferred.
Rowan also shows promise to living with cats – in a previous foster home, Rowan lived happily with a confident cat and has met cats since being adopted. He doesn’t really take much notice. However, those who have cats will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Please note – Wild At Heart Foundation carry out behaviour assessments on all of our dogs being onward rehomed. We are currently arranging Rowan’s assessment and therefore the information provided may change.
Rowan’s medical needs
Since arriving in the UK, Rowan has tested positive and is being treated for Leishmania. Applicants must be aware that his treatment and medical needs are ongoing and may require lifelong management.

Wolfie was found in a construction site in Bahrain after his mother had sadly passed away. He was rescued along with his siblings and placed in a foster home before travelling to the UK. Wolfie has since been living with a lovely couple in Northern England, but it has recently been identified that he needs a different environment in order to thrive.
Wolfie is currently located on the Scottish Border where meet and greets with those who meet his needs will be required.
The adoption fee of £295 will apply.
Meet Wolfie
Wolfie is described as a very gentle-natured and sweet boy, who has quite a laid-back energy around the home. Since arriving in the UK he has learnt so much and has exquisite manners – he never jumps over the furniture and respects the boundaries of the stairs in his current setting. Wolfie is crate trained and happily takes himself there for a snooze and knows it to be a safe place for when his humans are not home. He is such a good boy!
Wolfie does have a playful side and makes those around him smile with his quirky nature. He enjoys cuddles from time to time and is partial to an chew and soft toy! Wolfie is also very intelligent – he has picked up tricks and training quickly!
Wolfie does have some behaviours that need to be considered by prospective adopters. Wolfie’s biggest fear is strangers – he finds the presence of people he does not know upsetting, and this can be seen both in and out of the home. He is very unsettled by people entering the house and therefore he requires a quiet home with little comings and goings. Wolfie can also be startled and reacts to things he finds scary when out on a walk, especially people and dogs he does not know. Wolfie responds well to consistency – an established routine and the feeling of ‘what to expect’ is key. Please note, that because of these behaviours, Wolfie cannot be homed with children or a home where children visit.
Wolfie gets on well with dogs he knows and is introduced to appropriately, especially when he has visited a day-care type setting or a boarding facility when his humans have been away. He requires appropriate introductions to dogs to form bonds as he can be reactive to them when our on walks. Homes with resident dog(s) will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Introductions will be required prior to the adoption taking place. Please note that Wolfie cannot be rehomed with cats.
Please note – Wild At Heart Foundation carry out behaviour assessments on all of our dogs being onward rehomed. We are currently arranging Wolfie’s assessment and therefore the information provided may change.

Fred was originally rescued in Bulgaria after being found by our partner shelter when he was only a few hours old. Fred travelled to the UK in September 2020 but his family have come to the difficult decision that he needs another home in order to thrive. Fred is currently living in East Sussex, where meet and greets with suitable applicants will be required.
The UK adoption fee of £295 will apply.
Meet Fred
Fred is happiest when he is exploring the countryside, he longs for a rural location where he can live peacefully without meeting too many scary things. For Fred, meeting people can be overwhelming. Strangers, particularly men, are very alarming to him and he struggles with anxieties in this way. Fred is also overwhelmed by busy areas both in and out of the home. A quiet home with very few comings and goings is what he needs most. Fred will need an experienced owner who is confident in managing his anxieties in this way. Fred can be reactive and therefore will need ongoing behaviour support and training.
Fred loves to run and he is so lucky to run with a dog runner and other dogs on a regular basis. This gives him the fulfilment he needs; he has lots of energy and longs to feel free with the wind in his ears! His new home will need to provide him with the same enrichment – a private free roaming dog field or a well-established and experienced doggy day care could be great in fulfilling his needs. Ideally, Fred would live with another calm dog so he can gain the canine companionship he requires too. Slow and careful introductions will be required.
Fred needs an adopter who is ready to take things at his pace, he will require ongoing training with a qualified behaviourist and a calm and consistent routine. Fred is house trained and sleeps well overnight in a crate, however Fred would benefit from an owner who is home most of the time and one who does not travel too often.
Fred’s Ideal Home
The UK adoption fee of £295 will apply.

Theros was rescued as a stray by our partner shelter in Greece. He arrived in the UK in September 2021, but unfortunately Theros didn’t settle in this environment and therefore he is now looking for his forever home in a rural location and preferably with a canine friend.
Theros is currently living in a foster home in York where meet and greets with those who meet his needs will be required. The UK adoption fee of £295 will apply.
Meet Theros
Theros is such a clever boy, and it doesn’t take him long to suss things out. In his foster home, Theros has made friends with the resident dogs, cats and the family’s 9 year old son…. Making friends comes naturally to him in most cases! Theros takes a little longer to come round in male company, but with a bit of gentle persuasion, he soon approaches for a fuss.
Aside from his friends, the tennis ball is one of Theros’ most loved treasures. He loves nothing more than to carry it around, gnaw at it or encourage the other dogs to play with him too. Theros has previously shown a little resource guarding in this way, especially around those who he does not know, but this has improved significantly in his foster home and we are really proud of his progress.
Theros takes time to accept change and things that are new to him, whether that’s change in his routine, new people popping round or experiencing a new area or sound. Theros really needs a home that can offer him a stable and quiet routine, with a supportive family who have plenty of time to build upon his confidence. He would flourish in a rural setting and in a home with a large, secure garden.
Theros really loves canine company, so we are looking for a home for him with a canine friend or two. Theros would love to have a calm, but playful, female companion by his side. Theros has been living with cats in his foster home too and gets on with them well. However, we will be assessing homes with cats on a case by case basis.
Theros’ personality wins lots of people over and his stunning good looks attract lots of attention. However, Theros is nervous by nature and his future family will need to understand this, giving him the time, patience, love and protection, he needs from things he finds scary. Theros may not be a dog that would settle in a busy household, or join you in a pub or café, but he does show loyalty and would make the most wonderful addition to a family.

Beautiful Ihrin was rescued from Romania in 2017 after being found in a bin along with her siblings. She was adopted to the UK later that year but unfortunately, her adopters have come to the difficult decision that Ihrin would be best suited to a different home, and as such we are now looking to find her a new forever home.
Ihrin is now in a foster home in the South of the UK. Meet and greets will be required for suitable applicants.
Please note that the UK adoption fee of £295 will apply.
Meet Ihrin
Ihrin is a sweet soul who adores attention from those she knows and loves – she has been known to actively seek out a fuss! Since arriving in the UK in 2017, Ihrin has learnt several commands & is fully house trained. She is bright, energetic, loves nothing more than to snuggle up on the sofa and enjoys playing in the garden. Ihrin will make a wonderful companion and a loyal friend.
Ihrin has successfully lived with dogs and a very confident cat, but she also copes well as the only dog in the home. Ihrin does enjoy greeting other dogs when off-lead but can be scared by larger dog or those who are overly playful or boisterous. Because of this, we will be considering homes with resident pets on a case by case basis.
When walked on a lead, Ihrin can be reactive towards both dogs and people, especially if they are approaching. Ihrin will need an experienced adopter who will commit to her ongoing training and offer her support in these areas.
Ihrin’s biggest fear is meeting strange people both in and out of the home. She can feel extremely vulnerable in these situations, resulting in the needs to guard herself. Ihrin needs a quiet adult only home, with a family whose routine would not rely on guests coming and going too often. Ihrin will warm to people over several meetings, but it is important to note that Ihrin can take longer to build a relationship with woman than she does with men. Ihrin may need the support of a behaviourist going forward in this area.
Ihrin has been through so much already and really needs a committed adopter who understands the needs of an anxious dog. She needs time & patience in order to flourish. Please get in touch if you can offer a calm, rural, adult only home for Ihrin.
Please note, Ihrin is now in a foster home in the South of the UK. Meet and greets will be required for suitable applicants. The UK adoption fee of £295 will apply.

Luna was sadly found abandoned in a dustbin outside of a pet shop in Greece. Thankfully escaping this fate, Luna travelled to the UK in May 2021 but her family have since decided that Luna needs a new home in order to thrive. Luna is currently in the South East of England, where meet and greets can be arranged with those who are suitable and have completed our adoption process.
The adoption fee for Luna is £295.
Meet Luna
Luna is a bundle of joy and has been described as a ‘ray of sunshine’! Her energy, personality and love of water leaves the people around her smiling from ear-to-ear! Luna is looking for a committed adopter who is ready to put in the work and guide Luna through her next adventure – a new home here in the UK.
Luna currently lives with two other dogs and loves nothing more than running around with them in an enclosed field! However, Luna lacks respect for other dogs’ space and their boundaries. She becomes over excited easily, which sometimes leads to frustration and boisterous behaviours. In the home, Luna can often become jealous of other dog’s food, toys and treats. Homes with resident dogs will be considered on a case-by-case basis and only with experienced applicants.
Luna is incredibly intelligent and likes to use this trait to figure things out around the home. Luna has successfully sussed out the mechanics of a door handle and can open any door! Whilst there is a humorous side and amazement around this, we must consider this carefully when assessing suitable homes for Luna and prospective adopters needs to take this into consideration.
Most of Luna’s walks currently consist of off-lead time at a private hire, enclosed field. She loves nothing more than to do lots of zoomies and splash through puddles during these sessions. Luna can walk politely on a lead, however this will need some training and guidance when in her new home. Luna can become overwhelmed meeting new people and dogs outside of the home, adopters will be advised to seek one-to-one training in order to manage this behaviour and adopter’s will need to show patience and support Luna in her new routines.
Luna can be startled by people approaching the house and in particular delivery and postmen. Training will be required here, taking advantage of Luna’s love of food and treats!
Luna is already house trained (although some regression should be expected in a new environment), and being such a bright girl, we have no doubt that she will continue to make brilliant strides with adopters who are committed to a consistent training plan. In return, Luna is sure to light up her new home with her happy and energetic ways.

Mary had a poor start to life and was found dumped in a garbage bin. She had a very lucky escape as she was rescued just before the bin men were due to collect the bins. Mary is now living in a foster home on Lesvos and is ready to find her forever home in the UK!
Mary is your typical happy-go-lucky, playful & energetic pup! She adores going for walks, running around after her four-legged foster companions & zooming on the beach! When she’s tired herself out she enjoys cuddling up for a nap, with both two & four legged companions and preferably by the fire!
Mary is also a regular at her foster carers cafe – she can regularly be found perched on a chair/table at the bar, happily greeting all the locals! Mary is lucky enough to benefit from some great exposure to more busy ways of life and so we could consider homes in a busier area. Please be mindful that her confidence could regress after travel & adopters will need to be committed to building her confidence, furthering her training & socialisation once in the UK.
Mary currently lives in a foster home with both dogs & cats and enjoys snoozing with both! We can consider homes with friendly resident dogs & also dog-savvy cats.
Mary is a very sociable girl and we can consider homes with children on a case by case basis.
Please note, that Mary will not be able to travel until at least March so please bear with us whilst we prioritise the dogs that are travelling sooner.

Thalia was found living in an army camp on Lesvos, along with a few other stray dogs. It was threatened that Thalia and the other dogs were going to be removed and dumped elsewhere, so one of the local foster carers stepped in to provide Thalia with safe refuge until she was ready for adoption. Now Thalia is ready & eager to find her forever home here in the UK!
Thalia is a loving, playful & friendly girl who is learning lots about the world. She is a bright little spark & picks things up very quickly. She also enjoys having many a treat for being a good girl!
Thalia adores spending time with her fosters, especially if there are lots of cuddles on offer, and is looking for someone that would shower her with love!
As well as having a good nature with her foster carers, Thalia also likes to socialise with the other dogs in her foster home and will regularly be found running around with her pals. The occasional ‘zoomie’ session isn’t unheard of! She can feel a little unsure around larger dogs in her foster home, however, we believe Thalia would benefit from having another friendly, gentle & small resident dog within the home, to help lead the way for her.
Thalia will need some one to one training once she is settled & may take some time to adjust to her new life and build confidence but with plenty of reassurance and treats we are sure she’ll find her feet quickly!
Her friendliness also extends to felines so we could consider a home with cats.
Please note, that Thalia will not be able to travel until at least February so please bear with us whilst we prioritise the dogs that are travelling sooner.

Bella, Sailor’s mum was abandoned when she was pregnant and gave birth to her 8 pups in a ditch. Luckily, the family were found and rescued within a few days and they are now in the care of our partner shelter. Sailor and his siblings are each now looking forward to finding their forever family’s in the UK.
Although Sailor is the smallest of his siblings, what he lacks for in size he certainly makes up for in confidence, feistiness & of course cuddliness! He loves to run around with his siblings in search of twigs or often stealing everyone else’s toys but no one seems to mind, as Sailor is so very easy to forgive thanks to his charming ways. Sailor loves a fuss & has been known to be a little needy when it comes to asking for more but he is so very easy to spoil rotten thanks to those adorable puppy eyes! Sailor may need a little help learning to become more independent when he is settled in his new home but with a dedicated family by his side & commitment to those all important training sessions we are sure Sailor will be quick to impress – in more ways than one! Due to his potential breed mix (possible Greek Shepherd), Sailor may grow to become protective of his favourite things so we are ideally looking for adopters with experience of these behaviours.
For reference, the last photo is of Sailor’s mum, Bella.
Please note, Sailor will not be travelling until at least January. Thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Sailor as soon as possible!

Stella was living a very sad existence, kept on a chain by a farmer who barely fed her. Thankfully, a contact of our partner shelter rescued Stella from her miserable existence & brought her into the loving care of a foster home in Lesvos. She is now looking forward to finding a family who can give Stella the love that she previously had never known.
Stella is an incredibly sweet girl who has a wonderful nature. She adores affection & cuddles – so much so that she is not always willing to share! The same can be said for her love of food & with this, she is a very obedient girl who just wants to please. Due to her initial nervous nature, Stella does need some confidence building so will need a committed family who are willing to help her adapt to her new life in the UK. She can be frightened of heights, very loud, sudden noises like gunshots or fireworks & she does not like raised voices. With this in mind, we would love to find Stella an adult only home in a rural area where she will have the luxury of peaceful walks right on her doorstep. Stella gets along well with other dogs & has even made friends with cats, however she does not like to be overwhelmed by too many dogs at once & she will need management around treats, as she can protect her food. Stella needs a patient, caring family who can offer her as much time as she needs to get used to her new surroundings but with her loyal nature, we are sure that she will soon make an incredibly loving companion.
Please note that Stella will not be travelling until at least the New Year. Please bear with us whilst we prioritise those dogs who are travelling sooner. Please also be rest assured that we will be in touch to discuss your suitability for Stella as soon as possible.

Coco was found wondering the streets in Mantamados, Lesvos. Thankfully, she was taken in by a trusted foster carer who is taking great care of Coco before she embarks on her journey to the UK in search of her forever family.
If there was an award for the world’s greatest cuddle monster – Coco would be sure to win first prize! She loves to climb up onto laps requesting a big cuddle from almost anyone she meets, even offering a big face lick in return! She has a very quiet, relaxed personality but this is mostly due to the fact that Coco is still quite timid in new situations. Her confidence is growing greatly but she will definitely need a committed family who will be patient with Coco whilst she learns to adapt to UK life. She will likely need a quiet home & slow introductions to new places or people. Whilst Coco get’s along well with other dogs, she can become overwhelmed if surrounded by dogs that are overly energetic & she would much rather make friends in her own time. Given her own space & time to come out her shell, Coco’s heart of gold is just waiting to blossom in the arms of a loving family.
Please note, Coco will not be travelling until at least January 2022. Thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Coco as soon as possible!

Prada & his sibling were left in a dumpster in Mantamados, when they were only a few days old. They were cared for by their rescuer for the first month before being taken to a trusted foster carer in Lesvos. Prada contracted Parvovirus (a nasty virus easily caught amongst unvaccinated dogs), but thankfully he was in the right hands to overcome this and is now happily awaiting his forever home & cannot wait to meet his lucky new family!
Prada is described by his foster carer as the funniest of funniest pups there ever was! He is absolutely full of beans & loves to zoom around before jumping on his carers lap for a big face lick & of course, a cosy cuddle. Prada is full of enthusiasm for life & lights up everywhere with his beaming smile & continuously wagging tail, his infectious personality makes him a charmer when making friends, be that with humans, other dogs or even cats. When he isn’t busy zooming around, cuddling or playing with his toys, Prada is most likely found asking for a few more treats to gobble up for being such good boy!
Please note, Prada will not be travelling until at least January 2022. Thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Prada as soon as possible!

Ralph was found with his siblings at a hotel nearby to the shelter by some local children. The children had taken the puppies to a safe area, where they had been feeding, watering and playing with them. The puppies are now happily residing in the shelter, waiting for their forever homes.
Not only is Ralph a stunning boy but he is also a happy, cheerful puppy! He is still a young pup who’s personality is still developing but he is currently a curious boy with plenty of energy for playtime & a big desire for cuddles! Whilst Ralph is seemingly a confident pup at the moment, life in the UK will be very new for him, so he will need slow introductions to his new environment after his arrival. Ralph would like a family who have plenty of time for playing & of course those all important puppy training sessions!
Please note, Ralph will not be travelling until at least January. Thank you for your patience, and rest assured we’ll be in touch to discuss your interest in Ralph as soon as possible!
