Alisha is one of five dogs we’re rescuing from South Korea, who were saved from meat farms earlier this year. Like Dawn and Doori, Alisha is now with a wonderful foster family in South Korea until she travels to the UK in early 2021.

Alisha had only ever lived on the meat farm prior to being rescued. As such, moving to her foster home and living with both humans and other dogs, has been quite an adjustment for her. She’s still unsure of people and does not actively seek out affection, so will need prolonged, positive-reinforcement based training and plenty of time to allow her to settle in and begin to trust her surroundings.

As such, she’s looking for an adopter who is calm, patient and has faith that Alisha can become the carefree, happy dog she deserves to be.

Alisha is currently living with two other dogs and is generally submissive with them both, allowing them to share her toys and food. It’s taken her a couple of months to begin playing, but she now enjoys the company and even cuddles with her new siblings.

We’ll be considering every application on a case-by-case basis, but it’s likely Alisha would benefit from having another dog around for companionship.

Being a sensitive soul, Alisha really likes having a safe space that is all her own, where she can retreat for some quiet time and feel secure.

As such, she’s looking for a quiet, rural home with few comings and goings, to begin with at least, so that she can really get to know her new surroundings and feel secure enough to explore.

Please note that Alisha will not be travelling until early 2021.

Doori is just 1 of several dogs we’re rescuing from the South Korean dog meat trade. We’ll be sharing more updates in the coming weeks, which will be communicated through our South Korea project page and via socials.
