Alisha is one of five dogs we’ve rescued from South Korea, who were saved from meat farms earlier this year. Alisha is now with a wonderful foster family in the South-west UK but please note that the South Korean adoption fee of £950 will apply. You can learn more about this project through our South Korea project page and via socials.

Alisha is a beautiful girl inside and out, who has been through so much already. She had only ever lived on the meat farm prior to being rescued, and whilst she was in a foster home in South Korea, she had next to no exposure to the outside world.

Moving to her foster home in the UK and living with both humans and other dogs has been quite an adjustment for her and at first she was very shut down. She’s still unsure of people and does not actively seek out affection, so will need prolonged, positive-reinforcement based training, with plenty of time to allow her to settle in and begin to trust her surroundings. Alisha loves food, particularly ham and this had been a really useful training tool whilst in her foster home. Alisha is looking for an adopter who is calm, patient and has faith that she can become the carefree, happy dog she deserves to be.

Whilst Alisha is still getting used to home comforts, one thing she has really taken to is the TV! Alisha is a big sports fan and enjoys watching all sports, with this seemingly boosting her mood. So if you’re into your sports, Alisha will be definitely be your a partner in crime!

Alisha is currently living with other dogs and a cat, and is wonderful with them! She is generally submissive, allowing them to share her toys and food. It’s taken her some time, but she is now not shy to initiate play, and really takes comfort in her furry companions.  We will only be considering applications with another dog who can provide Alisha with some much needed support, as well as lots of fun and play.

Alisha really struggles with anything around her neck, likely related to significant traumas she experienced before being rescued, but this is something he foster carers are working on. A harness would be recommended until Alisha is more confident and comfortable with a collar.

Being a sensitive soul, Alisha really likes having a safe space that is all her own, where she can retreat for some quiet time and feel secure. She is still very unsure of the outside world, but with time we believe this will change, once her confidence begins to grow. We are therefore looking for a quiet, rural home with few comings and goings, so that she can really get to know her new surroundings and feel secure enough to explore. Alisha has not been tested around children, and due to her nervous disposition, we will only be considering homes with older dog savvy children.
